SavagesRife with gore, Savages definitely appeals to a violence leaning audience. The story, following two independent drug dealers who get into hot water with a drug cartel, isn’t all that unique. Sure, the love triangle (with the ever so sexy Blake Lively) had a slightly different spin than the triangulation we’re used to in movies, but that’s about it for ingenuity. It’s watchable, but in terms of a compelling story and character progression, it’s feeble. For fans of bloody action, the lackluster story can be overlooked for the sake of entertainment, but none fans should look elsewhere.

Verdict: Rent It
