- Kojima Productions
- Xbox 360, Playstation 3
- Rating Pending
Earlier today, at the 2013 Game Developers Conference (GDC), Konami and Kojima Productions unveiled a trailer for what will be the next installment of the core Metal Gear Solid series in the Metal Gear franchise. Entitled Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the new title is in development for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and runs on the FOX Engine (in case you’re not familiar with Metal Gear, the engine is named after a military unit from the franchise).
At the Conference, Konami’s President, Tomoyuki Tsubio, expressed that Konami has high expectations for The Phantom Pain. So, with that, we might as well go straight to the confusing, story-filled blur that is this five minute trailer. For those familiar with the story so far, you may recognize the fall of Mother Base, and may even be able to pick out some of the hints to the connection between MGS: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. For the rest of us, we can enjoy the amazing visuals, the flying whale and flame-winged horse. And since Konami seems to have missed out on the age gate notice for this announcement, let’s go and pop the trailer below!
