Company of Heroes - BD packshotCompany of Heroes pleasantly surprised me, not because I liked it, but because I didn’t hate it. Set in the same era as its video game cousins, the film is centered on a group of soldiers who try to uncover the mystery behind Hitler’s secret weapon. Being a straight to DVD movie, my expectations were really low. And to a certain extent, I was right. The story was fairly convoluted, the acting skewed toward the pitiable, and the dialogue was occasionally laughable. However it wasn’t entirely awful, thanks to compelling action, and pacing that had a respectable rhythm to it.

Verdict: Rent It
