In reference to the new Castle Map Pack for Halo 4, the press release says that the maps contained within “emphasize vehicular warfare and large battles over open spaces, where team strategy is key to successfully conquering the battlefield”. Could this mean, to all of you in the Halo multiplayer universe who prefer to play solo, challenge accepted? The choice is up to you. The Pack introduces three new “medium-to-large” maps – Daybreak, Outcast and Perdition – each with its own unique flavour. Daybreak pits two UNSC bases against each other in the midst of a mountain range. Outcast takes you into the natural tunnels and arches of a rebel outpost in the middle of a desert. Finally, Perdition throws you into an urban battleground that will inevitably cause a mix of long distance, vehicle-to-vehicle and close quarters combat.
The Castle Map Pack also includes a new playlist for War Games, called Castle DLC. It’s a six-on-six playlist that will require a major coordinated team effort. The Pack will be launching on April 8th, for 800 Microsoft Points, but is also available as part of a War Games Map Pass.
