Mages_Shot4 Their pitch video may not have the same production quality of some, or even many of the other projects out on Kickstarter these days, but the team at Himalaya Studios, raising funds for a new point-and-click RPG, sure seem to have their hearts (not to mention the experience to back their proposal) put into the project they’re trying to complete. Originally working under the name Anonymous Game Developers (AGD), the team released four freeware remakes of classic Sierra titles from the King’s Quest and Quest for Glory franchises, as well as one original title under the Himalaya Studios name.

Now the team is hoping to raise $65,000 (of which over half has already been pledged) for a new original title, called Mage’s Initiation, which they called an RPG hybrid, as it mixes standard RPG elements and action with point-and-click gameplay. The classically-styled game’s story follows a sixteen year old mage in training as he sets out on a journey to prove his worth. There will be puzzles and trials along the way, as well as combat, spell-casting and a leveling system that similar to standard role playing games. For more information, and to see what they’re offering for pledges, you can check out their Kickstarter page.
