Yep. That happened. Sony unveiled the Playstation 4 today… and I missed it. Most of it anyway. Apparently there will be a big focus on social connectivity, and social networks – Facebook and Ustream, for instance – and there was something about its specs… We’ll all the info we can, when we can. That said, Ubisoft got its fair share of attention during tonight’s event by showing off a little more of its highly anticipated high-tech (Person of Interest-like) title, Watch Dogs. As you’ll be able to see from the new gameplay demo (you can also find a version without commentary here), Watch Dogs combines detective work with hacking, combat and parkour.
If you’re not yet familiar with the game, Watch Dogs puts you into the shoes of Aiden Pearce, a technologically connected vigilante who uses his skills to hack into Chicago’s central operating system and control various elements of the city’s infrastructure, be they traffic lights, security cameras, other people’s wireless devices or even public transportation. And as of today, in addition to its release confirmations for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U and PC, Ubisoft announced that the game will also be a launch title for PS4.
