Phineas_Ferb_Perry_surfingHere’s an announcement from the “coming out of left field” category; Disney Interactive subcontracting out game development to another third-party publisher. You’d better get ready to make that catch, because here comes the ball. Last week Disney Interactive announced that it’s partnering with Majesco Entertainment (or vice versa, depending on whose announcement you’re reading) on the development of either a single or entire series of Phineas and Ferb video games based on the hit Disney Channel animated TV series and film. The announcement hints in either direction.

The game(s) are currently in development for all of the major home consoles and handhelds, as well as smartphone and tablet operating systems for release at some point during August of this year. Perhaps this is somehow linked to an upcoming Phineas and Ferb theatrical release? And will there be an undercover detective duck-billed platypus involved? All hints are pointing to we have no idea.
