Like Argo’s tag line says, “The movie was fake. The mission was…” well, not quite as depicted, but how often does a Hollywood depiction of a true story show all the facts as they were? Yes, Canada played a far more integral role than the film credited (and there were a number of other factual changes) than even the adapted postscript credited, but the film’s quality more than makes up its truth-stretching. It’s well-acted, well-shot, gripping, though occasionally humorous. The chase scene was a bit much though… Regardless, if factual distortions aren’t a niggling point for you, you’ll appreciate Argo.

Verdict: Wait for the DVD/Blu-ray
