We knew this game was coming. Even when all the folks from Bungie and Microsoft said that the Halo story was done, did anybody really believe them? Yeah, that’s what I thought. And so, this Tuesday, video game journalists from across the GTA, myself included, attended the Toronto media launch event for Halo 4. The event kicked off with a complete showing of the game’s promotional live-action mini-series, Forward Unto Dawn (which I missed), followed by an Infinity Slayer Mode tournament and interviews opportunities with Kevin Grace, from 343 Industries, and Daniel Cudmore (X2, X-Men: The Last Stand), who played Master Chief in Forward Unto Dawn.
What I could gather from watching the tournament (getting my butt kicked by my fellow journalists wasn’t on my “to do” list for the day), it’s Halo (which could be a great or completely uninteresting thing, depending on your feelings about the franchise). I’m far more interested in the story campaign, which, sadly, was unavailable to play. I did take some time to speak with Cudmore, off the record, and I’ll simply say that he appeared very down-to-earth, and happy to casually chat about his work, and where his interests lie in video games.
