Finding Nemo, the charming Pixar film about a father on a quest to find his son, came back to theaters in 3D, and, well, I’m torn.

On the one hand, I love this film. I’m not ashamed to admit that I can recite many of the lines from the movie verbatim. So I’m sure you can imagine how much I enjoyed seeing it on the silver screen again. Also, I could be wrong, but I think the textures of the characters and environments were enhanced.

However, the 3D was pointless. All that it added was a hint of depth. And I say a hint because it was barely noticeable. On top of that, there was not a single point in the film where something popped out of the screen. What a waste!

So, my dilemma is, I would love to recommend for you to go see it in theaters, but with the price of 3D films, it’s difficult to justify the expenditure. I say, just buy the DVD and watch it at home. It’s a far better investment.

If only they would’ve rereleased it onto the big screen in 2D as well, then I’d highly endorse seeing it in theaters.
