As a fan of classic point-and-click adventure games – the Monkey Island franchise, The Dig, Full Throttle and other classic Lucasarts titles among them – the prospect of a new, though classically-styled point-and-click adventure coming to PC tomorrow has me somewhat curious and excited. Vince Twelve and publisher Wadjet Eye Games are preparing to release Resonance, a point-and-click puzzle adventure five years in development. The story of Resonance follows four characters (all playable) who are working together to prevent a potentially devastating man-made event from happening after the unexpected death of a renowned particle physicist. How their lives intertwine is part of the mystique of the story, which I am certainly looking forward to trying out for myself.

Resonance is set to release for PC tomorrow, for $8.99 USD as a digital download, or for $24.99 in a boxed collector’s edition, via its official site, and is expected to be available on Steam soon as well. Could this be the title that brings me back to PC gaming? Well, probably not… I still can’t possibly afford the system upkeep costs. But it’s still nice to see new titles for PC that are likely playable on a wide variety of systems.
