- 2D/3D Side-Scrolling Platformer
I just love interesting new titles from independent developers! Actually, I just plain love interesting new titles, period. That’s why I am both happy and slightly disappointed to say that I just found out about Might and Delight’s 2D/3D side-scrolling, adventure platforming labour of love, Pid. Developed in partnership with Beefy Media, Pid follows a young boy mysteriously stranded on a remote planet inhabited by robots after falling asleep on a bus. Trying to find his way home, he must use every tool at his disposal to navigate sometimes deadly terrain and outsmart some of the locals.
One of the main platforming mechanics in Pid is a tool that lets you mess with gravity (kind of like those gravity funnels in Portal 2). In fact, just like in Portal 2, the tool lets you manoeuvre through the world and move objects, however it also lets you activate machinery, and transform the layout of levels. If that’s not enough, you can play alongside a friend and share the adventure together! Pid will be coming to Steam, the Playstation Network and, now, thanks to D3Publisher (as alluded to in the headline), Xbox Live Arcade this summer. But I would very much like to play it now!
