Fresh off of some great success at E3 2012, Shank franchise creators, Klei Entertainment, have sent out some new screenshots for their upcoming 2D stealth-action title, Mark of the Ninja, for your viewing pleasure. You can find them below. If you’re unfamiliar with the title, don’t worry. We were rather in the dark about the story specifics as well, until recently. You play as a ninja whose clan has been attacked, and you are hunting down the person responsible. At your disposal are all of the cool tricks of the ninja trade. You can hide in the shadows to observe your prey (or perhaps their subordinates, if you don’t wish to cause a commotion).
There are a variety of ways you can approach your opponents, tricking, distracting or subduing them to continue on your way, but your clan has secret skills of its own. As a member of the clan, you bear a mark – a tattoo – that bestows additional, perhaps magical skills that can help you along your way. That mark can be expanded, to give you more skills as you progress through the game and/or take down your enemies. Mark of the Ninja is coming to XBLA this summer.
