Every year at E3, a lot of fresh games and extra content (and the occasional console) are announced at the manufacturers’ media briefings. This year’s Sony conference was no exception, with known titles like Assassin’s Creed III, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and many others being showcased. The important thing to know, in regards to games, is that there are a lot of them coming our way. So, instead, I’d prefer to focus on some of the other major announcements; two in particular. First, Sony announced that the Playstation Network’s Plus members now get instant access to popular titles as part of their subscriptions. Now titles like inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and others from both first-party and third-party developers and publishers will be available as long as you have a subscription.
Sony also announced a partnership with HTC to expand Playstation Mobile (previously Playstation Suite) offerings by increasing the number of Playstation Certified devices with the phone manufacturer while SCE Worldwide Studios and other developers produce “attractive” games for the phones. The announcement is a rather large one for Sony, as it has taken the program some time to take off. No word yet, on when we will see these devices available.
