With so little time to cover E3 this year, I’m left a bit to the sidelines, to watch, mostly. So with a bit of time at my disposal to write about something from the show, it doesn’t seem quite fair to write about the known or expected major titles being shown (though I still hope to write something about the Halo 4s, Gears of Wars, etc. as well). So when Ubisoft unveiled Watch Dogs at its press conference, I knew I had my first E3 post. This all-new IP, being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, features an open, and highly technologically connected, world in which you play as an antihero named Aiden Pearce.

Pearce is able to hack into any connected system within the world and use it to his advantage in a variety of situations, including intelligence gathering, combat and communication. All this with the purpose of taking down the corrupt people who believe they control it all (or at least that’s the idea I got from watching the demo). The demo also made it appear that the campaign features some cooperative play, with other characters having Pearce’s back. More on Watch Dogs whenever we get more info!
