2XL Games and Reverb Publishing announced this week that, at long last, their downloadable licensed offroading title, Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad, will be available for download by the end of next month. The official launch date for the game will be June 27th, priced at 800 Microsoft Points for the Xbox Live Arcade version, and $9.99 for the Playstation Network version. D3Publisher will be officially be handling the distribution and publishing of the game, which lets you get behind the wheel of 800 horsepower offroad racing trucks, rally cars and buggies to compete in official races like the Pro2 Championship, part of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. (Maybe we should all just figure out whether the word if “offroad” or two words?)
Keep in mind that a big focus in Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad, aside from the racing that is, is the number of customization options open for each of the vehicles, and multiplayer. You and up to seven friends (count it out, that makes eight) can compete against each other for offroad (off road? Dang it!) supremacy, in your own custom racer, at 60 frames per second (that’s apparently a big deal these days) in full 1080p.
