The only reason to watch Albert Nobbs is for Glenn Close. She was able to command my attention by playing but a small, frail individual. Suffice it to say, her performance was outstanding. However, the same cannot be said for the rest of the film, as it didn’t really go anywhere. The whole time I was waiting for the film to grow, but it never did. So when it came to the climax, though I was moved by Close’s character, the story did not touch me the same way. It could’ve been excellent, but instead it was forgettable.

Verdict: Forget It
