The second installment in the Sherlock Holmes movie series (not to be confused with the British television series), Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, is making its way to DVD, Blu-ray combo pack (which will include a Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy of the movie), and digital download on June 12th.
If you choose to buy the Blu-ray version, you’ll have access to a free movie application for the iPad, which allows you to explore your way through interactive features, enhanced content, interviews, photos and more.
With regards to special features, the Blu-ray comes with a 130 minute long extra hosted by Robert Downey Jr. called, “Inside the Mind of Sherlock Holmes”, which is a series of vignettes pertaining to various aspects of the films. The DVD has a taste of this too, but not nearly as much as the Blu-ray has.
As far as pricing goes, the Blu-ray pack is set at a suggested price of $39.99, whereas the DVD is pegged at $31.98. Keep in mind, these are just suggested prices, so don’t get too overwhelmed by the seemingly high prices.
Out of curiosity, which do you prefer, the Sherlock Holmes films or the British television series?
