Aside from a confusing branching system further complicated by the convoluted maps, Fez is actually a very enjoyable platformer/puzzle game. The gameplay hinges on a central rotating mechanic where you have the ability to rotate the level as you climb your way through (and around) the various obstacles. It’s basically a 2D platformer that gives you three dimensions of movement. The design has a very retro feel to it, yet it still looks sharp and appealing, the puzzles can get frustrating, but are still very compelling and rewarding, and the innovative mechanics offer a highly creative and entertaining gaming experience.

Verdict: Buy It
