Would you believe that the Dragon Ball franchise is far from finished? Really? I was surprised, but hey, you must have the power of foresight or something. Namco Bandai Games announced today that DBZ will be returning, and this time players will get to physically control the characters, because, as you might have guessed from the headline, the game is being developed for Kinect. Oh, and it’s all in first person. Dragon Ball Z for Kinect is expected to have over 100 moves for players to master. It will also feature more than 50 playable characters and new anime footage that will be debuting in Europe and the US for the first time.

DBZ for Kinect will be playable using one of two modes – Story and Score Attack. Story mode will allow players to to fight in dramatic anime battles that combine cutscenes and battle controls to take part in boss battles. Based on the announcement, it sounds like players will have to follow on-screen prompts for fight moves (similar to Kinect dancing games…). Score Attack mode is exactly as it sounds; completely score based. Dragon Ball Z for Kinect is scheduled to release in North America and Europe this October.
