While the big news of the day for many of you out there is probably Ubisoft’s unveiling of Assassin’s Creed III today (it’s coming October 30th according to some sources, by the way), there was one other major reveal today; that of Despicable Me 2. And since you’ve probably already gotten your fill of drooling over the American Revolution themed cover (not that it truly is the final cover, necessarily), we’re focusing on Illumination Entertainment’s teaser for the upcoming sequel to the super-villain-turned-caregiver story.

Here’s what we know so far: There are minions, Steve Carell and Jason Segel are already said to be returning, as well as the voices of the kids from the original. Al Pacino is also listed among the cast, for an unkown character. Just as importantly, the writers and directors are the same as the original (which from my standpoint is a good thing, however, from Nathan’s, maybe not so much). Where could they possibly go with the story after the original film’s ending? We haven’t the slightest. And we’re pretty sure the teaser (below) won’t give much away either. Despicable Me 2 is slated for theatrical release in 2013.
