Act of Valor, with all its picturesque locales, was a visually stunning adaptation of Call of Duty, with actual Navy SEALs! It showed off the fascinating intricacies of tactical maneuvers (often times from a first person perspective), with all the glorious gunfights and explosive goodness that you’d expect from a first person shooter. Unfortunately, the acting was weak (as it had Navy SEALs attempting to act, not actors attempting to impersonate Navy SEALs), and it also utilized the same lifeless, simplistic story setup as most shooting games. Good guys are tasked with stopping bad guy who wants to destroy America.

Verdict: Wait for the DVD/Blu-ray
