Konami announced the official release of its 3D re-release of the hit stealth-action title Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D this week. So, if you’re thinking “Wait a second… Didn’t you guys say it already released?”, the short answer is, yes we did. And at this point, the only assumption we can make as to how we got that wrong is that we got that idea from the fact that we had already seen the game at recent previews and thought it was out. For this, we can only apologize for being such teases.

Either way, the game truly is available now, so you can get your hands on the Cold War story that throws Snake into a Soviet held jungle in the midst of the Cold War. The big draws here are the 3D enhancements, the portability, and the integration of the DS hardware, including the dual-screen format, camouflage photography using real-life items you photograph yourself, and gyro synchronization for portions of the game. And if you’re interested in playing with a more classic control scheme, the Circle Pad Pro is compatible. Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D is available now, for a suggested retail price of $39.99 USD/CAD.
