Candid Camera personality from the mid 60’s, Allen Funt, takes a look at how people react to provocative or sexual situations, in the suitably titled, What Do You Say to a Naked Lady?, a film full of hidden cameras, interviews, and naked people. It’s informative, funny, and is a fascinating window into how people reacted to nudity and sexuality in the late 60’s. On the other hand, I wasn’t really a fan of the music. Well, not so much the music, but the lyrics. The sounds were decently delightful, but the words, which explained the scenes as they were happening, were kind of unappealing. Still, aside from that and one or two minor audio glitches, this film was enjoyable.
However, I think that maybe it would’ve been better as a television series than a movie. Taking it in weekly doses might have been more immersing, because seeing it all at once caused my interest to fade. Still, it was certainly interesting, humorous, and, again, it’s a great timepiece. Now I’m curious, if this was made today, how different would people respond to these same situations?
