» News: Ubisoft Hits the Playstation Vita Launch Hard, With Five Titles
| Thursday, February 16, 2012
There’s something to be said about a company throwing its weight behind a product, and I’m quite sure that Ubisoft’s lineup of launch titles for the Playstation Vita counts as one such declaration, essentially saying “This is a good product”. Alternatives to that statement would be “We think this is cool”, or, more importantly, “This is something at which throwing millions of dollars is worthwhile”. In fact, of the six titles Ubisoft announced it would bring to Vita, only one is not headed for launch day.
In the racing category comes Asphalt: Injection, a new addition to the arcade racing franchise specifically kitted for Playstation Vita control. It features over 100 races, in venues around the world. Dungeon Hunter Alliance fills out the action RPG segment with a “unique online multiplayer experience”. Players can enter the world solo or in teams of up to four heroes. Lumines Electronic Symphony crosses between the puzzle and music genres and is the franchise’s first new installment in over five years. Michael Jackson: The Experience takes the dancing game mobile. Why? I don’t know… Finally, Rayman Origins rounds things out with its crazy antics. Overall, it’s quite the impressive launch lineup from one third-party publisher.
