It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything about this game, but Majesco Entertainment announced the release of its new Jaws video game today. Co-developed and executive produced for Wii by Tectonic Studios and Microprose, and for Nintendo 3DS by n-Space and Microprose, the game is meant to pay homage to the classic film… by letting you control the shark and tear into the flesh of unsuspecting tourists.

Of course, there are also plenty of other creatures in the ocean to attack with your own brand of malice. You can use stealth or just go crazy with a shark frenzy. It’s really up to you (at least, so long as you can manage to fill your Rage Meter). And the entire thing is set to the original score composed by John Williams. Jaws: Ultimate Predator is available for Wii and Nintendo 3DS for $29.99 USD and, believe it or not, the 3DS version specifically, is rated M for Mature (one of only four titles available for the handheld to receive the rating. 15 if you count the regular DS!). The Wii version comes out at a tamer T for Teen, and apparently features less gore.
