Majesco and WayForward walked a thin line with BloodRayne: Betrayal. This 2D, anime-styled Side-Scrolling bloodfest is a visual treat, and it certainly provides a challenge as your progress further through the levels. Its feeling of speed, however, varies drastically. It felt fast-paced at the wrong times (when trying to control landings), and far too slow during combat.  That could have had something to do with a lack of a more comprehensive attack list, but when you think of hack and slash and anime, slow shouldn’t even be a consideration!  Still, it’s a load of vampire-impaling, succubus-slicing fun that’s  worth a play.

Verdict: Buy It

I downloaded the demo of Betrayal and played a level. The visuals and action were smooth, but didn’t seem precise enough, just like you said. Still, lots of fun. The game definitely goes on my “play if I ever get around to playing video games at all” list.
