This past Thursday, Nintendo of Canada held an event showcasing some of its top upcoming titles from E3 2011 in downtown Toronto. With a more subdued feel than the glitz and glamour of E3, the event only featured a handful of Wii titles, another handful of Nintendo 3DS titles, and a spatter of DS games. Sadly, as with last year’s review event, which had no 3DS in sight, there was no Wii U to be found. We’ll still have to wait to get our hands on one.

As you might expect, the Wii titles included The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword and the still unofficially titled Kirby Wii. Ubisoft’s Just Dance 3 rounded things out, along with a small demo of the upcoming Wii version of Rhythm Heaven. Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, Super Fossil Fighters and Kirby Mass Attack rounded out the Nintendo DS offerings while 3DS had the greatest showing, with Mario Kart (3D), Super Mario (3D), Starfox 64 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D. Overall, the offerings did not disappoint, but Rhythm Heaven and Kirby Mass Attack proved to provide some seriously fun surprises. We’ll have more on the games throughout the week.
