From the beginning of Rubber, I knew I was in for a wacky, ridiculous ride that made little sense. How did I know, you ask? Well, for one thing, the movie is about a killer tire. Furthermore, the movie itself makes it explicitly clear that there’s little to no reason for anything that occurs in it. I mean, it could be seen as brilliant, as meta, or what have you, but it’s definitely zany, and I was definitely entertained by it. And though it’s fairly slow, I do fancy strange nonsense, and I think this one did it quite well.

Verdict: Rent It
