I’ll begin by admitting that I missed the first few minutes of Ubisoft’s press conference. I didn’t mean to, but I couldn’t find a working feed quickly enough. However, it didn’t seem that I missed all that much, as most of the titles announced during the conference were sequels! Using the event as a kick-off to its 25th Anniversary celebrations, Ubisoft introduced many of the titles with “What-if?” videos of what the games would have looked like had they been published 20 years ago. But, I couldn’t get over the lack of new properties.

As with Microsoft’s conference, there were a couple exceptions, one new partner IP (The Adventures of Tin Tin), and one wholly new IP (Rocksmith). Both of those titles have me excited. And don’t get me wrong. I can’t wait for Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Far Cry 3 and Rayman Origins (no offense Ghost Recon), and Brothers in Arms Furious 4 looks cool, in an Inglorious Basterds kind of way. I’m not saying that Ubisoft’s lineup won’t be good, if not amazing, I’m just saying that I’d like to see more new IPs. Other titles shown include Just Dance 3, TrackMania2 Canyon, MotionSports Adrenaline and Your Shape Fitness Evolved (2012).
