Hobby Star Marketing made its first official announcement for Fan Expo Canada 2011 this week, sending out a reminder that the annual convention for comic books, gaming, science fiction, anime and horror will now be four days. Fan Expo is Canada’s largest convention event for these types of media in the country, and Hobby Star is now saying it’s also the third largest in the world. The event is moving back to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s South Building and has been expanded to four days in an attempt to avoid a repeat of an issue from last year’s show, which reportedly left frustrated fans, and even exhibitors, waiting out on the street in front of the MTCC’s North Building for hours after attendance exceeded capacity. Though that does speak positively both to the show’s popularity and to the sheer magnitude of media fans in Canada.

The show will start on Thursday, August 25th, with a special preview from 2-4 pm, after which the doors will officially open, and run until Sunday, august 28th at 6 pm. Hobby Star will be announcing the show’s guests throughout the month, beginning with the comic book guests this Thursday. For more information, check out www.fanexpocanada.com.
