The battle between the ISA and Helghast rages on as Sony officially released Killzone 3 today. The new shooter, which continues right where its predecessor left off, and Helghan has plummeted into complete chaos, with the two most powerful men fighting for dominance and the ISA running low on supplies and reinforcements. Running completely contradictory to that statement is the announcement that the ISA get new weapons  and vehicles to work with in this game, but who am I to judge gameplay development vs. story continuity, right?

We got to see the game first-hand at a media launch event last week at Sgt. Splatter’s Project Paintball in midtown Toronto, which included another look at the game in stereoscopic 3D and gameplay with the new Sharp Shooter attachment for the Playstation Move controllers. It looks as good as it did as Sony’s Holiday Preview Event, but playing with the Sharp Shooter proved a little more unwieldy than I would have liked. I definitely preferred the standard stick controls. While there, I took the opportunity to try my hand at paintball for the first time ever. To my surprise, I had a great, and relatively painless, time. Sorry for the mess, Sony.
