2K Games and Gearbox Software announced the release date for the game nobody ever thought would truly release, Duke Nukem Forever, today. A shocked gaming public got its first look at the miraculously revived shooter back in September, at Penny Arcade Expo, and has since been waiting for this day to come. So, without further ado, DNF will be releasing in North America on May 3rd and internationally on May 6th.

That said, I feel it necessary to point out that not much else has been revealed about DNF since September’s public unveiling. I’m unsure of whether that’s significant or not, as I don’t know how much more you need to know about DNF other than it’s a shooter that will have Duke taking on an invading alien horde, complete with Pig cops, alien shrink rays and gigantic alien bosses, and September’s information (linked above). If you’re so pumped for it that you can’t wait for the demo, you can get early access to it by getting a membership certificate for the DNF First Access Club inside the Borderlands: GotY Edition. Finally, we can’t post the new trailer because of age gate restrictions, so go to www.dukenukemforever.com to see it.
