Harmonix and MTV Games announced today that The Doors will be featured as the first artist with official Rock Band 3 DLC. Better yet, during the game’s launch week (October 26th to November 1st) a three pack track of songs – Light My Fire, Riders on the Storm and Touch Me – featuring Pro Guitar and Pro Bass will be available to download for free from the in-game Music Store. That same week, even more The Doors music will be coming, with the addition of a nine track pack – Hello, I Love You, L.A. Woman, Love Her Madly, Love Me Two Times, Peace Frog, People Are Strange, Roadhouse Blues, Soul Kitchen and The Crystal Ship – featuring Pro Drums and, where applicable, harmonies and Pro Keys parts.

As if the confusing inclusion and exclusion of Pro mode from certain songs, or some odd mixture thereof, wasn’t enough, the track packs will only be available separately until November 2nd, at which point they will become one big, full price 12 track pack or only be available individually! What are they going to do next, charge extra for Pro mode capable DLC? Pricing has not been announced yet, so who knows…
