Nathan and I got the opportunity to attend our first Sony event this Tuesday, in downtown Toronto at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (kudos for the intelligent use of its own space). Sony and a few third party publishers were showcasing their holiday season lineups, and a couple games that won’t be (don’t worry, Gran Turismo 5 isn’t on the won’t list). I got my first taste of Playstation Move gameplay, played a few games, watched people play even more, like LittleBigPlanet 2, Virtua Tennis 4, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Rock Band 3 and more, and even got a look at a portion of Vanquish (which has me very excited) not previously shown.

What really caught my eye that day though, was Activision’s hands-off demonstration of Call of Duty: Black Ops in 3D. Only announced earlier that day, the game’s 3D support will work for both PS3 and Xbox 360, and even though I’m not caught up in the recent 3D hype, I was still impressed. Compared to Killzone 3, which I got to play, Black Ops‘ 3D is much more noticeable. And Activision says it was a last minute decision! We’ll have more event coverage over the week.
