ZEN Studios announced the pricing details for Pinball FX 2 today. Rather, it decided to clarify its confusing pricing details for the “freemium” title (which we previously pointed out). In case you’re still confused about the game’s “freemium” model, Pinball FX 2 free to anyone who wants to download it, allowing complete demo access to the game’s Core Collection. If you want complete access to those tables, you’ll have to buy the Core Collection for 800 Microsoft Points. Anyone who owns the original Pinball FX can easily import their old tables into the new game at no cost, but will still have to purchase the Core Collection. Any other DLC tables you want can be purchased for 240 Microsoft Points each. If you didn’t own Pinball FX but want the original tables, you can get them for an additional 800 Microsoft Points.
ZEN also announced the final table in the game’s Core Collection (the others being Pasha, Rome and BioLab) today, Secrets of the Deep. It’s an underwater exploration table that’s essentially the pinball equivalent of a deep sea expedition. You’ll “meet” strange creatures, uncover ancient artifacts and more. Pinball FX 2 is releasing on October 13th.
