Late last night, I had the urge to watch an intelligent science fiction film. One that could present a reasonable satire of society without being too obvious or cryptic. I came upon Daybreakers at the suggestion of my roommates and, to my surprise, it wasn’t horrible. Yes, it’s a vampire movie, but the GOOD kind (i.e. not Twilight). Ethan Hawke (one of my least favourite of all the “Keanu Reeves”-esque actors)  is paired with an excellent Willem Dafoe, who portrays one of the last human revolutionaries. It is extremely original and I encourage you to give it a shot.

Verdict: Rent It
