One of the few animated films from the mid to late eighties that I haven’t seen, The Black Cauldron, is coming back to DVD on September 14th for the film’s 25th anniversary. For those of you, like me, who haven’t seen this movie, it’s about Taran, a pig keeper’s apprentice, who goes on a journey to find a Black Cauldron before the evil Horned King can.

This Special Edition DVD will cost you $19.99 USD and will come with the three bonus features that were on the classic DVD (which were a still frame gallery, a game called “Quest for the Black Cauldron”, and a Donald Duck cartoon from 1952 called “Trick Or Treat) as well as two new features including deleted scenes and another game called “The Witches’ Challenge Game”.

If this is like many of the animated movies I remember from my youth, I guess I’d be fairly brimmed with nostalgic excitement for this. So, if I may, I’d like to attempt acting thrilled. Ahem… Oh my freaking gosh! This is the greatest day! I love The Black Cauldron! Team Taran for the win! I must to own this! …And scene. How was that?
