Nintendo announced today that 100 Classic Books, a compilation of some of the greatest classic works of literature, is coming to the Nintendo DS platform next Sunday, June 13th. Available for only $19.95 USD/CAD, this collection contains classics for readers of all ages, like Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and many more. And all that on a card the size of a postage stamp. In fact, if you’ve got access to a Wi-Fi connection, you’ll be able to download 10 additional books, for no extra charge.

The collection can be read by turning the Nintendo DS sideways like a book, similarly to the way the Brain Age games are played. The pages can be turned with a swipe of the touch screen, using your finger or the stylus. Each book comes in a variety of font sizes, and there are also up to three virtual bookmarks, allowing you to keep your place within three different books at a time. You can also use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to upload ratings on books you’ve finished reading.
