I can kind of understand why some may enjoy A Nightmare On Elm Street, but I can see why people would say “meh”. This movie did scare me quite a bit, but it was shrouded in clichés, generally poor acting and crummy dialogue. If you are well acquainted with the original series, this may offer a hit of nostalgic goodness. Otherwise, this is just another formulaic horror film with generic thrills and very little creativity. I will say this though, Jackie Earle Haley is a marvelous performer, and it irks me that he is not recognized enough as an actor.

Verdict: Forget It
