As with Avatar and many other movies of this generation, Sherlock Holmes prides itself on being a spectacle. On that front, it delivers marvelously. The set pieces are gorgeous, the cinematography is very Guy Ritchie, and the acting was quite enjoyable. However, it lacked an original storyline. With all this in mind, if you plan on seeing this, make sure to rent it, for though it is certainly not Oscar quality, it was rather entertaining.

Verdict: Rent It
