While Vicky Cristina Barcelona did contain some very pleasing components like Javier Bardem’s acting, an attractive female cast, the Barcelona backdrop and Spanish influenced musical pieces, what kept me from fully enjoying this film was the aggravating narration. I loathe narrators, for I prefer to be shown the story rather than told. The one and only exception I have to this rule is Morgan Freeman, obviously! Aside from that and the fact that I didn’t really sense the Woody Allen style of humor, this movie is worth a rent.

Verdict: Rent It
